Introduction
Once you are set up with your preferred user environment and software, it will be important to understand
- how the filesystems are configured on Vista,
- where and how you can move your files or data, and
- how to keep track of your available storage.
Since Vista is part of the TACC ecosystem, files can easily be shared with other TACC systems. Users can also share with their collaborators, move files from local or remote machines to Vista, and utilize the different file systems for various computing purposes. Since Vista is running a version of Linux (specifically Rocky Linux 9.3), the normal protocols for moving data can be leveraged, as well as other software tools. There are also tools to keep track of your storage and allocation usage.
