Each exercise in this roadmap assumes that you have completed all previous exercises in the roadmap. The exercises have the following requirements:

  • An ACCESS User ID, which may be obtained from the ACCESS User Registration page.
  • An ACCESS allocation. ACCESS provides complete information about its allocations, while Jetstream2 provides an overview of the types of allocations that are available, with links to detailed information about allocations in the context of Jetstream2.

This exercise asks you to install and use the OpenStack CLI to create and manage a Jetstream2 instance. To complete it you must do the following:

  • Install the OpenStack client (CLI).
  • Use Horizon to download an openrc.sh file for your selected project.
  • Use the CLI to create a new instance using the network, security group and key pair from the previous exercise (or ones you create using the CLI).
  • After the instance is running, use the CLI to associate your floating IP address with it.
  • Use the CLI to shelve the instance.
