It is a common practice in cloud computing to create storage volumes to hold large amounts of data in a location that is independent from instances. These volumes can then be attached to any instance to make the data on the volume available to the running instance. This topic describes creating and managing such volumes.

Objectives

After you complete this segment, you should be able to:

  • Describe some reasons for using separate volumes in cloud computing
  • Create, attach, detach and delete Jetstream2 volumes
Prerequisites
  • Complete the Jetstream2 Overview topic in this roadmap.
  • Complete the Creating an Instance topic in this roadmap.
  • Complete the Managing Instances topic in this roadmap.
