You can manage your Jetstream2 instances through the Exosphere web interface to control your computing costs and improve their effectiveness in your research. This topic discusses the different states that an instance can take, the actions that move an instance from one state to another, and your options for rescuing, resizing or cloning an instance.

Objectives

After you complete this segment, you should be able to:

  • Name the states that a Jetstream2 instance can be in.
  • Describe the difference between a shelved instance and a suspended instance.
  • Discuss what locking an instance does (and does not) do for you.
  • Shelve and unshelve your instance.
  • Resize your instance so it uses a different flavor.
  • Delete an instance when you are finished with it.
Prerequisites
  • Complete the Jetstream2 Overview topic in this roadmap.
  • Complete the Creating an Instance topic in this roadmap.
