These exercises touch on the major aspects of working with Globus transfers in the context of TACC resources, and should be completed in order. Detailed information is available for performing these steps.

  1. Log in to the Globus Web Interface with an organizational account that has been added as a Distinguished Name in your TACC account, then go to the Transfer section.
  2. On the right side of the interface, select a TACC endpoint, such as Stampede2 or Frontera, to which you have access.
  3. Create a new folder called "test" on the endpoint. Change the path for that endpoint to be in the "test" folder.
  4. On the left side of the interface, select your personal endpoint or the "Globus Tutorial Endpoint 1" if you do not have a personal endpoint.
  5. In the left browser, select a small file suitable for transferring. If using the Tutorial endpoint, select a file from the path "/share/godata".
  6. Transfer the file to the TACC "test" folder.
  7. Rename the transferred file to "new_name".
  8. Delete the file "new_name" from the TACC endpoint.
